MasjidMode is a daily-prayer companion that doesn't try to replace your spiritual practice — it protects it. The app shows accurate prayer times, the qibla, and the call to prayer. The real magic happens off-screen: a one-time setup tells your phone's own operating system to enter Do Not Disturb every prayer time, then exit when prayer is done.

Your phone falls silent five times a day. You stay present. The world waits.

MasjidMode uses the Adhan astronomical engine — the same calculation library trusted by mainstream Islamic apps. Times are computed from your device's coordinates and the sun's position, not from a database.

Calculation methods

You can choose between the standard methods used by major Islamic authorities:

ISNA (North America) — recommended default for Canada and US
Muslim World League
Umm al-Qura (Saudi Arabia)
Egyptian General Authority
Karachi (University of Islamic Sciences)

You can also select your madhab (Shafi or Hanafi) for Asr calculation.

If you ever doubt a time, your local masjid's schedule is the authority. MasjidMode is a tool, not a fatwa.

Hold the phone flat and rotate slowly — the gold marker points to the Kaaba

iPhone's Focus modes can silence your phone automatically at every prayer time. Set this up once and forget it.

Create a Prayer Focus

Open Settings → Focus
Tap the + in the top right → choose Custom
Name it Salah, pick the moon icon, choose a dark navy colour
Allow notifications from no one (or just family). Silence all apps.
Under Set a Schedule → tap Add Schedule → Time
Add five schedules, one per prayer. Check today's MasjidMode times and enter each one (e.g. Fajr 4:32 AM for 20 minutes).

During Ramadan or travel, prayer times shift. Re-check the times once a week and adjust the Focus schedules.

Or use a Shortcut

For automatic adjustment: open the Shortcuts app → Automation → create a Time of Day automation that triggers your Salah Focus. Pair with a Calendar feed of prayer times for the most precise setup.

Samsung's Modes & Routines is built for this exact use case.

Create a Prayer Mode

Open Settings → Modes and Routines → Modes
Tap + Add Mode → name it Salah
Under Notifications select Mute notifications and choose contacts you still want to reach you
Under Calls set Mute calls with exceptions for family
Set ringtone, vibration, and screen behaviour to your taste

Add five time-based routines

Go to Routines → tap +
Trigger: Time of day — enter Fajr time
Action: Turn on mode → Salah; auto-turn-off after 20 minutes
Save. Repeat for Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha.

Open Routines once a week to update times. We're working on a one-tap calendar import.

Stock Android and most Android phones use Google Assistant Routines.

Create your first Salah routine

Open the Google Home app or Google Assistant settings
Tap Routines → + New
Starter: At a time → Set time — enter Fajr time, choose every day
Add action: Adjust phone settings → Do Not Disturb → Turn on
Add a second action with a 20-minute delay: Do Not Disturb → Turn off
Save. Repeat for the other four prayers.

If your phone doesn't support Google Assistant Routines, install Tasker or MacroDroid from the Play Store — both can trigger DND on a time schedule with deeper control.

Free tier plays a default tone. Premium unlocks five voices:

Mecca — Sheikh Ali Mullah, Masjid al-Haram
Medina — Sheikh Hafiz Bilal, Masjid an-Nabawi
Egyptian — classic Cairo style
Libyan — North African melodic style
Soft — quiet evening recitation for late-night use

Premium feature. Generate a private link that shares your prayer schedule with family. When you update your location or calculation method, everyone's schedule updates.

Useful for: travelling families, parents away from kids, ensuring everyone in the household prays on the same schedule.

Premium feature. Save your home location and your current location separately. MasjidMode shows both schedules side by side so you know prayer times back home as well as where you are.

Includes shortened-prayer (qasr) reminders for travel days when you've moved more than ~80km from home.

By using MasjidMode, you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please do not use the service.

2. Service

MasjidMode is a prayer-time, qibla, and adhan utility. It does not silence your phone — your phone's operating system does, based on a setup you configure once.

3. Accuracy disclaimer

Prayer times are computed astronomically. Local masjid schedules remain the authoritative source for your community. We are not responsible for missed prayers or rulings.

4. Premium subscription

The $9.99 lifetime unlock is a one-time payment for one device family. Refunds available within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked.

5. Limitation of liability

Provided as-is. Victory Hour Multimedia Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

6. User conduct

Do not reverse-engineer, redistribute, or attempt to bypass licensing.

7. Free tier

Core features are free forever. We will not break this promise.

8. Sadaqah commitment

10% of net revenue is donated to fighting world hunger. This is non-negotiable and embedded in the company's mission.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced via email.

Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Your name and email at signup. Your approximate location (only while the app is open, only to calculate prayer times).

2. What we don't collect

We do not track you across the web, do not sell your data, do not share your location with third parties, and do not store your GPS coordinates on our servers.

3. Local storage

Your preferences (calculation method, athan voice, trial start date, premium licence key) are stored on your device in browser localStorage. Clearing browser data clears these.

4. Payments

Handled by Stripe. We never see your card details.

5. Premium licence

If you purchase, your licence key is generated server-side and emailed to you. The key is checked against our database on app load. We log only the validation request, not your activity in the app.

6. Email

Used only for licence delivery, refunds, and rare product updates. Unsubscribe anytime by replying.

7. Children

MasjidMode is appropriate for all ages but the email signup is intended for users 13+.

8. Your rights

Email us to access, correct, or delete your data.

9. Cookies

We do not use third-party cookies or analytics in MasjidMode.

AI Disclaimer

1. AI Dua Coach is optional

The AI Dua Coach is a premium feature powered by Claude (Anthropic). It is opt-in and never required.

2. Not a religious authority

AI-generated dua suggestions are starting points for personal reflection. They are not fatwas, scholarly rulings, or replacements for guidance from your imam or qualified scholars.

3. Verify with scripture

Any dua references the AI provides should be cross-checked against authentic sources (Qur'an, hadith collections, or trusted scholarly works).

4. Privacy

Your AI conversations are sent through our secure proxy worker. We do not store the conversation contents.

5. Limitations

AI can make mistakes. It may misattribute references or generate text that sounds authoritative but is not. Use judgment.

6. Off by default

The AI Dua Coach is disabled until you explicitly turn it on in Premium settings.
